Home Developer manages all excavations, concrete floors, builders, electricians, plumbers, drainlayers, painters and other trades, as well as all building permits and inspections. We may visit with you on-site to assess your new home and provide regular progress reports.

Kitset Homes

We deliver the materials, you manage the build yourself.

One of our most popular building alternatives is DIY Kitset houses. Kiwis who choose to build their own home appreciate its affordability and flexibility. When compared to other build options, the cost of our kitset homes varies greatly depending on your location and the house plan you select.

This is the most efficient way to build your own home, and it is an excellent solution for many people who have DIY skills. With a kitset purchase, we provide plans and all key building components for your home, and you are in complete control of the construction process. We provide everything from frames, trusses, and external cladding to plumbing supplies including tapware and even the kitchen and kitchen appliances you'll need - all at a much lower cost than if you bought the various pieces separately.

Because we only work with the most reputable building material manufacturers in New Zealand, you benefit from our bulk purchasing power, as well as the fact that all of your building materials are sourced and delivered from local suppliers in your area, from Bluff to Kaitaia.

You then project manage the construction of your new home. We can provide guidelines and guidance, but it is your responsibility to contract out and monitor the building work that you require. A builder is frequently involved, followed by sub-trades such as an electrician, plumber, painter, and drainlayer.

Home Developer can provide you with a list of approved builders who usually have a large network of sub-trade contacts to accomplish the necessary work. We will also provide a list of what is required and will assist you in resolving any issues that may arise.

Shell Only

We construct the shell; you complete it. The Shell Only option falls somewhere between a kitset and a full build. All of the remaining items, including a pre-assembled kitchen (using our bulk purchasing power), may be acquired through Home Developer, or you can source your own materials. You then complete the work in your own time, knowing that your home is weatherproof and secure. All that remains is to install the insulation, internal linings, and prehung doors.

Shell Internal

We construct the shell and provide the materials for you to finish the interior.

All of the remaining materials can be obtained through home Developer (using our bulk purchasing power), or you can source them yourself. You then complete the work in your own time, knowing that your home is weatherproof and secure. All that remains is to install the insulation, internal linings, prehung doors, plaster, and paint.

We deliver your pre-assembled kitchen, and you install the electrical and plumbing fixtures and fittings, as well as connect to your utilities.
